An operator in Avon Park, FL uses his TL-3 to demolish an old buildings.

According to Alfred Hodge, the DIrector of Public Works at the city, they use their Lightning Loaders to tear down condemned drug houses. Because of the filth, structural problems, and the chemicals present in the houses you want to keep workers at a distance.

First they peel off the roof with their TL-3, then they reach in and remove all the furniture and trash inside, and last they pull off chunks of the walls, and load them into the body until the house is demolished down to the slab. They like using the grapple trucks for this job because the units can demolish and haul away the debris as opposed to loading into separate haul vehicles with a backhoe, which would have to be trailered in. It also limits the exposure to employees to the hazardous chemicals and residue from meth production. Alfred says that sometimes they've demolished and hauled away whole buildings in just one morning's time.
